Displaying Your Collections

'Collect what you LOVE'

They always say...'collect things you love'....this is sound advice. A sure way to make your home or office a pleasant place is to surround yourself with items you like or better yet LOVE. Choose items that you just enjoy looking at, or that have a special personal meaning to you. Yard sales and flea markets are a great resource. A collection of Toleware trays purchased at yard sales becomes instant wall art!

'Everyday items can become ART'

'Items become a collection when grouped by theme of color, shape, style or subject'
Even everyday items such as plates or bottles can become an interesting collection if organized by a theme such as shape, color or style. Displaying your collection of items in a grouping makes them a real focal point! One item displayed on its own may not pack the punch of style that a group of similar items can.

If you are a wine enthusiast maybe you would like to collect corks. Think of the fun you will have drinking all the wine to amass this collection!! Doing your part to be 'green' as you repurpose an item some might consider trash while creating an interesting collection to display. Quite the conversation piece!

'Color Collections'

Is it a color you are obsessed with? But are you not willing to go the whole nine yards and paint your entire room ? How about grouping various items in that color together. This will give your space a punch of color!

Love LIME GREEN, but dont want to paint your entire room LIME GREEN? How about an arrangement of green items to create interest and quench your desire for your favorite color.

NON COLOR COLLECTIONS

A grouping of all white items such as a Milk Glass collection can create a dramatic contrast to your favorite color wall. This can also be done with a grouping of BLACK or METAL items as well. This will create impact and drama and your wall color will create the perfect background.

Pictured here is a collection of all white Milk Glass against paneling painted in Benjamin Moore's 'Havana Tan'.
